Eventful August 2008

13th August:
OK I know I've dragged this post for such a long time... *guilty* I was actually waiting for the pictures of Carmmy's bday celebration from Samuel. And now, I have yet to get them still! Hehehe! Anyway, Happy 18th Birthday my precious friend!! I hope it was a pleasant one for ya! I thank God for putting u in my life! U're someone I look up to and u've been such a blessing to many of us! It's amazing how God can use a person! =D I love u loads and I'm looking forward to see ya on Sats! Hahahaha! Do get a com soon!! Heee~

The bday card I pondered days over cuz I have problem doing cards for Arty Farty ppl.. Lol!!:

That's Marcus practicing hard for the 2 songs =P:

William's house:

The Red Line people after chilling at Carmen's place:

18th - 22nd August:
We had about 2 weeks of study break but the motivation for me to study came only 4 days before the papers started. I'm aiming for 3As, 2 Bs min. I'm a perfectionist who stresses myself. =( Anyway, results will be out on the 15th and I'm looking forward not to the results or choosing timatables but being able to meet up with my classmates. I really really hope most of us will be in the same class again! 22nd Aug was bittersweet. Exams ended, yay! Bday, double-yay!! My classmates planned a really sweet bday surprise for me! Those darlings...haha! Whr on Earth did they find the time to organise amidst the revisions for exams?! Gosh! Each of them wrote a little something..some wrote essays.. Haha! I've read them more than 5 times now! Every single card has special significance to me. If I write about each of my classmates, this entry would turn into a book. I'm thankful!!

Mangooooooee:

They made me a banner and a nice 'treasure' box!!! ^_________^:

And guess what was in the box? -->

Tada! They know me so well! They know I love gummies and I live in near a jungle (I'm called Junglewoman for a reason...):

Carmen, Joeline and Claudia!:

Blurry Claudia and Carissa! Lol! :

Samuel LJW doing the rocker-dude, Ben with the lion's mane, Clement my sexy lovely mum, Aaron (Teck Guan!!) my fishmonger friend and Yu Song/Songster. LoL! :

Aaron has this interesting hoody that zips up allll the way! =D

After our last paper, we headed to Harbourfront for Dim Sum. We had many many many many baskets (what do u call those dim sum trays?) of dim sum cuz Derek happily took advantage of the buffet eat-all-you-can and ordered away. Hahahaha!!! Anyway I'm gonna stay away from dim sum for the time being. Heheheh! After that, we went to this very nice pet shop at vivo. And then we chilled at this place and played some goggles game Derek taught us:

Clarene, Vanny and William weren't in the pictures =(((! Everyone went home to date their beds except Claud and I. Claudia's mom couldn't join her for the fireworks display so she invited me to join her! Soooo cooooooooooool!!! TY CLAUD! I'm gonna get a real camera and video down next time! Anyway we saw the French display. Couldn't catch the Korean one but it was really superb!! There was a magic show, belly dancers, military band performance and a live band (Cats in a Cradle - not too bad! The vocalist was good, the electric guitarist was wikiiid! =p).

We waited from morning...

Till night.....................Lol, I'm kidding. Time passes quite quickly when u're having fun. We ate while waiting and took pics and crapped. =D

There were girls like this dressed up as fireworks using balloons... Creative huh?

There were little foodstalls, accessories stalls and even game stalls. This was quite amusing! :

Lollipops!:
There's been an addition to my family! No, my mom's not pregnant! That would be a nightmare. Lol! My dad's client gave us a shitzu (a dog) cuz her daughter was allergic to the poor doggy. The dog had also been attacked by nasty blood-sucking ticks but now it's fine and loved by all of us! =) It's such a coincidence that the daughter, Florence, graduated from NP with a dip in BS as well! She majored in HR though and she knows Mark Tan and Koh Poh Tee! hahaha! Anyway here's Lollipops for ya:

She's a smart one! I thought her how to shake paw and she learned within a few minutes! Unlike Joey, who made me finish one whole packet of biscuits before she finally daintily lifted her paw. -.-

Bei Jing Olympics:
was a distraction to many of us who had to study for our exams. I was caught up with weight-lifting, football, badm, bball, table tennis, gymnastics, swimming, diving, track & field, volleyball and so many more!! The opening and closing was grand, the events were exciting, some disappointing. There were funny commentators, memorable sportsmen (namely Usain Bolt and Michael Phelps), good-looking guys, many record-breaking events and awesome sportsmanship! London next!

CEFC @ Woodlands:

A really really nice baptism pool...hehehe! :

I wanna join the Edge at VFC!! The series now is Hostage and it really speaks to me! There have been things I've kept inside for too long! I don't know if sharing with someone would be better but all these yrs, I hvn't found the courage to do so. I know it's tough and like Carmen says, 'this may not be the easiest walk, no one said faith was easy, but when circumstances build around you, lift up your eyes and look to the faithful one, Him who never fails.' =) One day... just one day, I want to have that courage to share and testify! =D

Btw, I've gotten a 2nd email address though I hvn't completely switched over to it. It's kimburger90@hotmail.com. Hehehe! And Sis went for Lasik Surgery! It went smoothly and she's very well now, PTL! She was blind but now she sees! lol! It's $2k, at Paragon. The process is not as gross as it sounds. I've read my sister's blog. Haa! I thought it was spelt Lasic, apparently it's Lasik (sounds so Malay-ish, haha!). Anyway my mom's encouraging me to go for the surgery too, but perhaps after I complete my studies. =) I've also found a job, thks to Joeline. It's tiring but a pretty reasonable and well-paying job. I'm gonna ask my bro to settle the driving lesson stuffs! LOL!

I'm wondering how everyone's doing. Everyone's asking me about class outings. Have I unofficially become the class organiser again? Lol!

Thankful

HAHAHA! I didn't know I had my profile page filled up! There was this random question:

"You've written a hit musical! How will you avoid having fame go to your head?"

And my ans:

"cut off my head so the fame will go to the butt instead."

LOL! I NEVER rmbred writing that! =.="

Anyway I have a sudden outburst of desire to blog once more. I was tagging away at friends' blogs and I noticed many people have changed their blogskins. That's the sign that I should change mine too! =P Everyone's going through HUGE turning points in their lives... be it marriage, finding that other half, embarking on new adventures. I'm so excited myself! Lol! My church, Covenant Evangelical Free Church (Covenant Too @ Woodlands), came out in the newspapers the other day. I did ushering for the 1st service and it's really such a joy and pride! No loans were taken for the $27mil building. It was indeed built by God's grace and provision and He IS faithful! There were even surpluses in the fundings! I really pray that God will use us as instruments to reach out to the people in the northern corridor. I pray that God will instill curiosity in those who do not yet know Him and draw those who have turned away back into His arms again! Myself, included!! I'm sooo thankful for so many things! I'm thankful for my family that they love me at my ugliest, craziest, most embarrassing moments. I'm thankful for Marcus, OH DID I TELL YOU HE GOT BAPTISED!??? Hahahah! I'm thankful for friends like Carmen who nv ceases to encourage me. I'm thankful for Dennis and Jabez and Joel who asks how I am every once in awhile. I'm thankful for Jo for every funny, special and memorable moments we shared. I'm thankful to God for friends he's given to me - Christian friends to encourage and build each other up, non-christian friends so that we might bring them to know You one day. Woooohoooo! I just wanna shout, scream, squeal! Hahahaha!

A few days ago, I was looking for a bible verse. One of my favourites. It was in the book of Psalms. I was actually looking for that verse for a friend. Then something so cool happened! My eyes just led me to another verse on that same page.

"I have strayed like a lost sheep. Seek your servant, for I have not forgotten your commands."

This verse just soften my heart. It was SOOO appropriate and I felt like the answer to everything just popped out! Hahaha! It's so meaningful to me so I just wanna share la. Heheheh! Ok Kim's gotta go back to her work. She's been VERY distracted. Somebody bring out the cane pls.

I'm praying for you. Pray for me too! =)

The girls and I wanna go back to Botanic Gardens again to take more pictures. Woohoooo! Hahaha! It's actually a really nice and serene place to relax at... The last time I went there, I didn't have much impression of the place but now, I think it's beautiful! And the best thing is, the mozzies thr don't like me. Hahaha!
